I’ve known Cromartie High school for a while, but never was interested in it, mostly because of the art style and maybe the plot. But recently my friend suggested that i should watch this series, cuz its short(only 12 min each episodes, so technically it can also be 13 episodes long) and that its pretty hilarious. So i took his words and gave it a go. Suprisingly the series wasnt all that bad, especially when Mechazawa, the Robot student showed up and found out that Norio Wakamatsu was the voice actor. There are also many great characters in the series, like Freddie Mercury is one of the character, which is helariuos, also a Gorilla, which is really random, but each character has their own part in the series and make the short 12 minutes a great episode.
The Animation studio, Production I-G worked on this series. They do a really great job on making animations really well, but for this series, i’d have to say it was semi-decent. Not sure if it was because it was made in 2003, or just because the original creator wanted to keep the style like the manga, so that it can keep its natural feel. Its probably the ladder, i never really read the manga, but i would assume that the animation style is low quality, is because it makes the animation more hilarious, gets the grasp of the originality.
The Opening music “Jun” by Takuro Yoshida, really sounds so funny with the animation that is made, also the music has some kind of nostalgic feel to it, not sure when the music was made, but it is a oldie kind music. The ending song “Trust Me” by Kunio Suma was some what a really different kind a taste of music, not really sure how i can explain it, being such a weird song.
So yeah this series is an interesting one, if your really bored and want some laughs, then go and watch it. Its short and has great humor, what else you need right? So if your like me and debating whether to watch it or not, dont think, just watch it.
